  1. For anyone with an interest in dinosaurs, the book is an extensive review of many recent diggings in South America. The narrative is heavily illustrated with sketches and colour plates of fossilised bones. Also, it shows how from such bones, much can be inferred about the dinosaurs’ habits and living conditions.

The reconstructions of the whole dinosaurs are especially graphic.

The book is also more than a mere recitation of fossils. It places each fossil in the much broader perspective of known and newly found families. A comparative analysis is often done on each fossil.

The book perhaps helps address relatively overlooked finds in South America, compared to better known results in North America.
